LABEIN presented H-KNOW prototype at the 7th AR&PA Biennial. Since 1998, the Spanish city of Valladolid has hosted the AR&PA Biennial, organised by Junta de Castilla y León and held every two years. This Heritage Restoration and Management Biennial Event brings together over 300 exhibitors to present the products, systems, services and companies in the various disciplines of conservation, protection, restoration, intervention, management and dissemination of Cultural Heritage. The Biennial is a multi-level event which includes a prestigious scientific International Congress; Technical Days, including workshops and seminar; the AR&PA Awards for the intervention on Cultural Heritage; and a complete social programme open to the whole city, with the name of AR&PA for All and AR&PA in Family that aims to bring families, and especially young people closer to Cultural Heritage. The 7th AR&PA Biennial will take place from 11th to 14th November 2010 and will have a new section called AR&PA INNOVATION, which aims to foster exploitation and spin offs of EU research results. New technologies, tools and devices will be presented through oral presentations, posters, exhibitions and practical workshops. This section of the event will be organised by the Spanish Castilla & León Regional Authority in close liaison with the European Commission and Labein-Tecnalia Research Centre. Within the scope of this "INNOVATION" section, a demonstration area will be organised to present technologies, tools, devices and prototypes, developed under the framework of EC and Nationally funded research projects. This exhibition will promote further exploitation of all of these products and prototypes, by showing their applicability to potential end-users, conservators, curators, owners and managers of cultural heritage assets. Moreover, it will be an opportunity for decision makers and relevant authorities, as well as the scientific community, to learn about the potentially marketable products developed under recent research projects.
